Dengue Prevention Through NEA’s Project Wolbachia
Maha Bodhi Students Learn About Dengue Prevention Through NEA’s Project Wolbachia
On 13 July 2026, our students participated in an engaging learning experience organised by the National Environment Agency (NEA) as part of Project Wolbachia.
Students had the opportunity to observe live, non-biting male Wolbachia-Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and explore the mosquito life cycle through its different developmental stages—from egg and larva to pupa and adult. Through these hands-on activities, they gained a better understanding of how Project Wolbachia helps to reduce the spread of dengue in our community.
The learning also reinforced the important role that each of us plays in preventing dengue. By removing stagnant water from potential mosquito breeding sites, carrying out the Mozzie Wipeout at least once a week, and remembering B-L-O-C-K, we can help break the dengue transmission cycle.
For families living in dengue cluster areas, remember to follow the S-A-W actions to reduce the risk of mosquito bites.
Together, let's keep our homes, school and community dengue-free!
