Programmes
Explore our Science programmes, where students learn through hands-on inquiry, real-world projects, and enrichment activities that build curiosity and scientific thinking.
Programmes
Our Science programmes are designed to nurture curious, adaptive thinkers and confident communicators. Through hands-on inquiry, collaborative learning, and authentic experiences, students develop the skills to apply Science meaningfully in real-world contexts.
Building Foundations through Inquiry
Every Child a Seed Programme
P3 students experience the joy of growing plants while observing life cycles firsthand. Through journaling and reflection, they develop observation skills and learn to communicate their scientific understanding clearly.
Science Investigation Activities
Students engage in guided and open-ended investigations where they ask questions, plan experiments, analyse data, and present their findings. These experiences strengthen adaptive thinking and scientific communication.
Applied Learning & Authentic Experiences
GROW Project – Hydroponics Cultivation
As part of the P4 Science curriculum, students explore sustainable agriculture through hydroponics. They take part in the full process from transplanting seedlings to harvesting while investigating how nutrients affect plant growth.
Science Discovery Walk
Learning extends beyond the classroom as students explore the school environment to observe biodiversity and make real-world connections.
Environment Education
Students develop environmental awareness and responsibility through learning experiences that promote sustainability and stewardship.
Enrichment & Talent Development
Young Scientist Badge Scheme
P3 and P4 students deepen their interest in Science through structured activities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and independent learning.
E2K Science
Selected P4 and P5 students engage in higher-order thinking tasks that challenge them to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate ideas effectively.
Competitions
Students are given opportunities to participate in platforms such as:
SPSO (Singapore Primary Science Olympiad)
Environmental and Green Awards
These platforms stretch students’ potential and build confidence in applying their knowledge.
Innovation & Collaborative Learning
Project Work
Primary 5 students work collaboratively on real-world problems, applying scientific concepts while developing communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Science Fiesta @ Experiential Learning Week
A key highlight of the year, where students engage in fun, hands-on STEM activities that promote creativity, curiosity, and the relevance of Science in everyday life.
Student Leadership
Einsteins & Environmentalists
Student leaders play an active role in promoting Science and environmental awareness in the school. They develop leadership, communication, and advocacy skills while serving as ambassadors for the department.
Environment Education
Our Environment Education programme aims to nurture environmentally responsible students who are informed, proactive, and committed to sustainable living. Through meaningful and authentic learning experiences, students develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and their role in caring for the Earth.
MBS EcoStewards League
As part of our whole-school effort, students participate in the MBS EcoStewards League, where they take an active role in promoting and practicing recycling. Through this programme, students:
Learn about waste management, recycling processes, and environmental impact
Take ownership of school-wide recycling efforts
Track and monitor recycling habits and outcomes
Advocate for sustainable practices among their peers
This platform empowers students to be environmental ambassadors, applying adaptive thinking to real-world issues and communicating their ideas to influence positive change within the school community.
