Expressing Our Gratitude
This is an extraordinary period, for all Singaporeans, and for all of us in MBS.
Within a very short span of time, our teachers have learnt to connect with our pupils in a very different environment. They collaboratively learn new tools, adapt their teaching strategies, and innovate feedback approaches. Many of these tools that they are using now, are totally alien to them before April 2020. Yet now, they can act as technical helplines and respond quickly to the hiccups in using Video Conferencing tools. And it’s all because they want the pupils to experience a virtual learning that is as effective as classroom learning.
Our office and support staff went the extra mile, beyond their job scope and way past the normal office hours. They diligently recorded every single pupil’s temperature during pre-HBL period. They patiently attended to non-stop calls from parents and pupils regarding login and password issues. They meticulously oversaw the returning of a mountain of learning materials to the pupils. They carried out many additional rounds of cleaning and sanitisation to keep the school a safe and hygienic place.
For all these that we do, we do it willingly for the well-being and continued learning of our pupils. We are not frontline workers, but our efforts support the unsung heroes – by bringing meaningful learning into our pupils’ homes.
We know that the rich experience of classroom lessons cannot be fully replicated in FHBL but we will continue to do what is best for our pupils. We appreciate the support of parents who partner us in the FHBL journey. Thank you for managing your own family and work commitments while ensuring that our pupils continue to learn at home.
Wishing you and your family well. Stay safe and keep well!
