CHARACTER AND CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION
CCE has always been at the heart of Singapore’s education system. In Maha Bodhi School, our students learn to be responsible for their own growth and understand their roles in shaping the future of their family, school, community and our nation.
We adopt Positive Education as a whole-school approach. Positive Education brings together the science of Positive Psychology and best teaching practices. We believe that when pupils feel good, they do good.
Positive Health (Physical, Emotional & Psychological)
We focus on providing an optimal learning environment and encouraging our pupils to cultivate mindful habits. FTGP, CCE (CL), PE lessons, Growing Years Programme, Values Education Programme and the Da Ai Ma Ma Programme are examples of lessons that equip pupils with a sound moral compass and enable them to think critically about how they can care for their own physical, emotional and psychological health and that of others. Through a culture of care in the school, we engender positive emotions of well-being such as gratitude to build up our pupils’ resilience and character strengths.
We focus on providing an engaging curriculum as well as student development experiences which enable pupils to feel the flow of their being immersed in different activities through an understanding the nature of their engagement, the pathways to it and the impact it has on their wellbeing. School programmes are also designed to revolve around meaningful themes as follows:
|1||Let’s Do Our Best.|
|2||Let’s Be Thankful.|
|3||Let’s Put Others Before Ourselves.|
|4||Let’s Care for Our Environment.|
We empower our pupils through purposeful projects in our Values-In-Action Programme, Student Leadership Programme and Environment Education Programme.

We seek to build strong communities. We help our pupils develop social and emotional skills that strengthen their positive relationships with their peers and teachers, and reiterate the importance of connectedness and strong relationships for their well-being on various platforms such as the weekly Level Assemblies and the Teacher-Student-Interaction sessions.
Our pupils cultivate the Growth Mindset and learn to believe in the Power of YET, appreciating that mistakes enable them to learn and make their brains stronger. They also learn to develop an attitude of gratitude, appreciating how they have the ability to decide how they wish to respond to different situations.
We strengthen national and cultural identity through the appreciation of the Chinese culture and cultural diversity in Singapore.
